This project was done for University of Wisconsin Milwaukee's Day of the Dead celebration (Dia de los Muertos) it was done using the traditional Mexican art form of papel picado, a form in which many layers of colored tissue paper are stacked on top of each other and then a mallet and chisel are used to pound through all 30 layers creating multiple copies of the image. This picture is based on my favorite band Coheed and Cambria, hence the dragonfly and large portion of the keywork (bands logo)
This is my second project for my Art 108 class, we had to take two pictures of ourself and put them together/draw the end result. This is what happened. The drawing is 8x10 and done in HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, and 7B pencil on bristol board.
This is a clay sculpture that I am constructing for my ceramics class, it is made entirely out of clay and stands about 6 inches tall. We had to create a creature and this is what I came up with, hope that everybody enjoys.
I am now adding plaster to the oil clay sculpture, this stage will be the trickiest, I have to try to maintain detail while adding the thick plaster sealant. I'll sand down tomorrow and hopefully be painting soon!
Picture that came out quite nice, with the exception of a fairly noticeable spot on one of the fingers caused by a hole in the negative, I had to use photoshop to fix it.
This is a photo of my friend Allie. We had to study portraiture for our photography class, this was my first photo shoot in quite some time so i'm surprised it came out as good as it did.
This is a caricature sculpture of Rocky Balboa that I am doing for my 3D art class. It is made with a wire frame then plaster body, and now I am adding Oil clay to the surface to get some detail. The sculpture is roughly 18 inches in height and still needs much work. Enjoy!
A Splatter/Abstract painting that I did for my girlfriend on Valentines day, she likes this sort of thing but it's not really my area of expertise so I just thought i'd give it a go. Tell me what you think.
So the Drama Club at my school asked me to design their club shirts for both the Board as well as the General club members. I wanted to keep both looking similar yet so I used many of the same ideas for both. However, in the picture on the top each letter is supposed to represent one of the four plays, the fifth being lighting, sound, etc. The design on the bottom I was given free reign over.
I am an aspiring young artist, still in high school and about to embark on the journey to college. I love constructive criticism so please feel free to comment, I am always up for suggestions!
